Jeff Rowe
American multimedia journalist, author and university instructor

Jeff teaches multimedia journalism at Fullerton College, and has taught previously at California State University, Fullerton, Chapman University,
Cypress College and Colorado State University.
He co-founded the News Academy at Fullerton College, which trains students to report, produce, write and edit broadcast, web and print pieces.
Students in journalism from Fullerton College under the supervision of Jeff are encouraged to include environmental issues in their work.
Here is a case in point.

Jeff has led seminars around California for the California Newspaper Publishers Association and has been a member
of the Online News Association, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW).

Jeff is the author of 'Reporting and Writing on Journalism's New Frontier' (University Readers/Cognella),
'Broadcast News Writing for Professionals' (Marion Street Press) and was a contributor to 'Emerging Issues In Contemporary Journalism' (Edwin Mellen Press).

Jeff has been a journalist since 1975, reporting and producing news for American television (KDOC-TV - Los Angeles, Orange County News channel),
radio, newspapers, magazines and online publications.
In the USA he has been a broadcast writer for the Associated Press, staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal,
and broadcast editor for The Orange County (California) Register.
In his journalistic career, he also contributed to Cumberland Newspapers, Brisbane, Australia.

As an engaged citizen Jeff is the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the University of Hawaii Alumni Association (USA),
a member of the Long Beach Airport Advisory Commission, California (US Air Force veteran) and president of
the Grant Neighborhood Association which among other projects, plants trees, leads commercial building rehabilitation and creates nutrition programs for low-income families.

Jeff has completed journalism programs at the University of California Berkeley (USA) (Knight Digital Media Center multimedia journalism program),
and the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida (USA). He also holds a BA in Geography from University of Hawaii (USA).

Jeff speaks Spanish (intermediate level) and has travelled widely through Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, South America, Puerto Rico and all 50 states of the United States.
Jeff is also a licensed pilot and scuba diver living in Long Beach, California, USA.
