Allain Bougrain-Dubourg
French environmental journalist, filmmaker and TV producer, writer

Allain hosted for over 30 years numerous television and radio programs to raise awareness of animal welfare and subsequently formed his own production company Nature Productions focused on animal and environmental themes (documentaries : 'Fondation Brigitte Bardot, des décennies de combats', 'MicrOcéan', 'A century for the birds').

Allain is also the author of several books on biodiversity, such as 'The Agony of baby seals' (Les Presses de la Cité), 'Heroes of biodiversity' (Ouest France), 'Passionate Dictionary of Animals' (published by Delachaux & Niestlé), 'Tendres tueurs' with Yann Arthus-Bertrand (Editions du Chêne), 'Il faut continuer de marcher' (Éditions de La Martinière), 'Lettres des animaux à ceux qui les prennent pour des bêtes' (Les Échappés).

His passionate commitment to the protection of nature led him to become the President of the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) in 1986.

Allain is a member of the Board of Directors of the 'Foundation for the Research on Biodiversity' (RFB), and used to be a member of the Board of Directors of the National Museum of Natural History.
He is as well a member of the 'Conseil économique, social et environnemental' (CESE) of the Consultative Assembly of the French Republic.
Allain is an advisor for Océanopolis, the center of scientific culture dedicated to oceans.

Allain is a Knight of the Legion of Honour of the French Republic, and received the French National Order of Merit for his fight for the wildlife from Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
Today he is an Officer in this Order.
