Laura is a British Senior journalist, producer and academic with substantial experience in international media, social ethics and humanitarian domains,
who began her media career with Swiss Radio International in a trilingual newsroom in Bern.
She went on to establish her international reputation with her reports on the emerging Northern Ireland peace process for the BBC World Service,
MSNBC.com, Deutsche Welle, The Guardian and Radio Netherlands Worldwide.

She also worked in Moscow (from 2011-2012) as an Output Editor for Russia Today global news website and was Assistant Producer on the award-winning RTE radio series 'Death of an Empire',
marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Soviet Union.
She was named Broadcast Feature Journalist of the Year in 2007 for reports produced while working as a senior broadcast journalist for BBC Northern Ireland on the environment and the consequences of segregation.
Her BBC documentary 'Side by Side' about a former British army officer making peace with his former IRA foes in South Armagh broke new ground in conflict transformation reporting.
Laura also made a series of documentaries on the experience of prison for political and ordinary prisoners and their families, which was broadcast by the Irish station Newstalk and the BBC.

As well as her media work, Laura has co-created an online archive of audio interviews with older people bereaved and injured through the Troubles for WAVE Trauma Centre.
She also held the post of Story Capture Coordinator at the Maze prison site, devising an ethical framework for a community archive, and training former political prisoners in interviewing and audio recording techniques.

Laura has given presentations on recording memories of conflict at symposia at the University of Ulster and Queen's University Belfast (QUB),
and sat on the panel of a symposium on Peace Journalism at QUB in 2013.
She also presented a paper on radio and political activism at the University of South Wales where she occupied the post of Senior Lecturer in Journalism.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics with French and Hindi from the University of York, Master of Arts in Medieval Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London,
and a Postgraduate Diploma (distinction) in Professional Practice in Higher Education from the University of South Wales.

She has done voluntary work at various times for Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and Amnesty International and served as a parent governor at Frederick Street School, Belfast (Northern Ireland).

Originally from London, she is currently based in France, works as a translator and teaches at the University of Toulouse.

Laura is joining 3ec-TV because of her long-standing commitment to ethical, solutions-based journalism, humanitarian issues and the environment.
