British journalist specialized in environmental issues, media expert, advisor

Alex is a former British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) journalist and environment correspondent.
Before joining the BBC, he was a Reuters news agency stringer in Burkina Faso, and later the BBC Maghreb correspondent.
From 1987 to 2005, he was environment correspondent for BBC Radio and TV News, and latterly for the BBC News website.
Moreover, he presented BBC Radio's environment programme 'Costing the Earth' for 6 years.

Alex is a joint founder and editor of The Climate News Network which has merged with the Canadian organization The Energy Mix.
His work is published worldwide in the United Nations University (headquarters in Japan).

Alex works with universities, charities and international agencies to improve their media skills,
and with developing world journalists keen to specialize in environmental reporting.
This has involved conducting workshops across Eastern Europe, Central and South Asia, Malaysia, the Pacific and East Africa.

He is a former honorary visiting fellow of Green-Templeton College, University of Oxford (UK),
a member of the consultative committee of the China Center for Climate Change Communication
and a board member of the Geneva (Switzerland)-based Zoï Environment Network.

Alex was named British environment journalist of the year at the 2017
UK Regional Press Awards for a series of science features published in the weekly Cambridge Independent.
